New in Nijmegen: the Jungheimer Café for young people with dementia

Many people think of older people when they hear the word dementia, but the illness also affects people who are still in the middle of life. For them there is little on offer that fits their age and situation. That is why Alzheimer Regio Nijmegen is starting the Jungheimer Café: an informal meeting place for young people with a form of dementia, the people close to them and care professionals.

The first evening is on 6 October, from 19.30 until around 21.30, at de Bikkels in the Goffert stadium of NEC in Nijmegen. Entry is free and coffee and tea are included. During the evenings there are knowledgeable speakers and different themes are discussed.

You are also welcome if there is no diagnosis yet, but you do suspect that dementia is involved. It can help, in that stage especially, to speak to people who are going through the same thing.
